The Specialist, Accounting - Escheat Operations supports the accurate and timely processing of unclaimed property activities, including state reporting and remittance support, due diligence and courtesy letter processes, recoveries, reconciliations, exception handling, controls, and partner inquiries. This role serves as a subject-matter resource for Escheat Operations, resolves complex work within established procedures, maintains audit-ready documentation, supports systems and process improvements, and helps develop team capability through knowledge sharing and cross-training. Success in this role requires strong organization, communication, judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines while handling sensitive information confidentially.
This position will be hired on a SuccessFlex basis. The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of the following location(s): 1 Nationwide Plaza. Work schedule: 2 days in office, 3 days remote. This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

We'll count on you to acquire, assemble, evaluate, interpret, record and analyze financial data of all types and sources ultimately utilized in the preparation of financial documents for various regulatory and statutory authorities and for internal management of all levels.
Reports to Accounting Manager or Director.

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. Note on Compensation for Part-Time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full-time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.
National salary range for Specialist, Accounting : $79,500.00-$148,500.00
Expected starting salary range for Specialist, Accounting : $79,500.00 - $119,500.00
