Job Details

Purpose Assist the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in management of security facilities set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Intelligence Community Directives, DoD 5105.21 and 5205.07 series manuals.

Responsibilities

Personnel Security: Assists the CSSO in performing personnel security administrative tasks including but not limited to coordinating and submitting access requests, maintaining personnel files; making required reports to cognizant security agencies (CSA); maintaining access roster; coordinating visitors and meetings; executing room attendant duties and serving as an authorized entry investigator. Security Management: Performs administrative functions needed for the maintenance of special programs under the CSSO’s portfolio including assisting in auditing and monitoring of local security policy for special programs; conducting self-inspections, responding to sponsor inquiries and reviewing related documents for accuracy and completeness; assisting PIs in meeting security administrative requirements; and administering compliant security education, training and awareness, and update records accordingly. Information Security: Assists the CSSO in performing information security administrative tasks including but not limited to: document control; security log maintenance and file retention; incident investigation and reporting; CDRL tracking and management; standard operating procedure monitoring and enforcement. Physical/Technical Security: Assists the CSSO in performing physical/technical security administrative tasks including but not limited to: Maintain access lists; Coordinate alarm response and investigation; perform random inspections; Coordinate alarm testing and maintenance. Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

HS/GED. Seven years of administrative experience. Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem problem solving skills Must be self-motivated with ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects Ability to work collaboratively with various groups of people in a team environment. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position. Employment will be contingent on selected applicant submitting application for access and receiving notification of eligibility within a time period to be specified in the job offer. If eligibility is confirmed within the specified period, employment must begin within 30 days of confirmation of eligibility. Eligibility for access to all levels of classified information authorized by the project sponsor(s) must continue without interruption during employment, including the successful completion of security polygraph examination(s), as required by the sponsor(s).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Two years providing administrative security support in a classified Department of Defense (DoD), special access program (SAP), and/or sensitive compartmented information (SCI) environment. At least two years of experience in an assistant role to a Facility Security Officer, or CSSO. Knowledge of Special Access and Sensitive Compartmented Information programs and government regulations. Eligibility for immediate access to classified information.

Salary Range

$52,000-$58,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.

Employment Eligibility

Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
