Job summary

KCRA 3 in Sacramento, a Hearst Television station, is launching a new content venture to showcase California stories. The Special Projects Producer will create meaningful local programs and guide reporters, producing content for TV, digital, streaming and social media.

The ideal candidate brings creative vision, decision-making, and clear communication, reporting to the Assistant News Director and coordinating with anchors, photographers, editors, and production staff.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of producing experience.
• Experience working in a newsroom.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
• Coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Creative presentation style and ability to showcase all resources and elements.
• Exhibit unwavering integrity and ethical standards.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts as needed.
• Bilingual experience is a plus.
• Related military experience will be considered.

The Special Projects Producer will create meaningful and memorable local programs. The ideal candidate loves to uncover impactful and engaging stories about the people and places of our state to connect with audiences across TV, digital, streaming and social media. You have creative vision and have experience making decisions and communicating the plan. You will report to the Assistant News Director.

The estimated base salary range for this role is between $60,000and $68,000.The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
