Job summary

Merced County is establishing an eligible list for Extra-Help vacancies in the County. The role focuses on supervising staff, planning and implementing automated systems, and coordinating with departments on changes and testing of new programs.

Desirable experience includes legal or criminal justice background, data analysis, policy interpretation, and staff training. The position is limited to 25 hours per week and does not include county benefits.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in the relevant system
• Formal, advanced educational training in the system of expertise is highly desirable
• Proficient in data processing, data analysis, and program planning/evaluation
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Maintain confidentiality per legal standards and County regulations
• Make presentations and train staff

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage staff as required
• Plan, design and implement systems
• Modify existing systems in response to changes in operational environment or regulatory changes
• Act as liaison with other departments affected by system changes
• Provide system specifications and monitor testing of new or revised programs
• Recommend changes to County policies and procedures to optimize departmental efficiency
• Perform duties required to complete assigned projects or system changes
• Gather, tabulate, and analyze data
• Interview and consult with departmental officials and staff to share information
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff
