Radiological Technician - CVOR Endovascular Lab

Takes radiologic films of the body requiring specialized or complicated procedures to assist in the diagnosis of diseases and injuries. Acts as an assistant to the physician during invasive radiological procedures.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

• Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
• Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT), required
• Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

• Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions

Principal Accountabilities

• Performs special/invasive radiology procedures on patients ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures: prepares patients for exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the exam, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the images.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
• Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
• Takes emergency call within the department.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Cath Lab Technician or Special Procedures Tech

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cath Lab Technician or Special Procedures Tech to join our dynamic medical team. This role involves collaborating with physicians to execute both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures within the Cath Lab. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of cardiac procedures and demonstrate proficiency with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in performing a variety of cardiac procedures.
• Maintain and operate medical imaging equipment with precision.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
• Accurately document procedure details and patient data.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Health Sciences, or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology. Candidates credentialed as RCIS by CCI since 2013 or earlier are exempt from formal education requirements.
• Licenses/Certifications: Must hold certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support and possess one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International; Registered Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R/MRT) or Registered Radiological Technologist in Cardiovascular-Interventional Technology (ARRT-CV) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Work Schedule

The role involves four ten-hour shifts from 0700 to 1730 on variable days. The position also requires being on-call for 10-12 days within a five-week period, with a 30-minute response time for 24-hour department coverage.
