Under direction of the department chief, nurse leader or designee, the nurse's responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a complex patient population. The triage nurse duties include but are not limited to: Providing telephone triage and clinical advice appropriately; coordinating follow-up care of patients, providing patient education, case management support, and practice management support. The role requires clinical expertise, critical thinking, collaborative practice, excellent communication skills and an understanding of the principles and practices of Oncology.
