Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System in Missouri seeks a Special Procedure Technician to assist with endoscopic procedures under supervision in the GI Lab and acute care areas. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with full-time benefits.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, BLS certification, and prior Nursing Assistant or healthcare experience, with strong communication and emergency response skills.

• Previous work as Nursing Assistant or similar healthcare role is desirable.

JOB SUMMARY

The Special Procedure Technician, under the direction of the Manager of the Center for Digestive Diseases, the RN or physician, assists with endoscopic procedures including proctoscopies, colonoscopies, panendoscopies, sclerotherapies, esophageal or pyloric dilatations, PEGs, ERCPs in the GI Lab, Radiology and in the acute care areas.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Type: Full Time (80 hours per two week pay period, with benefits)

Typical hours for this position: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

Education:

High School Diploma Required

Certification & Licensures:

-BLS Certification.

Experience:

-Completion of orientation to the Center for Digestive Diseases.

-Ability to act and function in emergency situations.

-Effective communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.

-Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or other healthcare position in which those competencies-required.
