Special Operations Case Manager (Capitol Region)

We are seeking a stellar Special Operations Case Manager who will provide a full range of professional health nursing principles, practices, and procedures in clinical settings to analyze problems related to providing appropriate, cost-effective care to Department of Defense (DOD) beneficiaries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Collect, organize, record, and communicate data relevant to primary health assessments, including detailed medical histories, to develop timely treatment plans.
  2. Assess patients via telephone, using established protocols, to provide appropriate and cost-effective care.
  3. Establish priorities for patient care, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes to ensure coordinated, efficient, and effective healthcare.
  4. Oversee discharge planning activities to ensure optimal timing and sequencing of patient care.
  5. Assist healthcare finders in identifying patient needs for referrals to appropriate providers or facilities.
  6. Negotiate, write, finalize, and administer product/service agreements to meet care goals.
  7. Use pre-established utilization review criteria to recognize and report quality and risk management issues.
  8. Apply VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guidelines to ensure evidence-based, standardized care for military beneficiaries.

Required Education/Experience/Skills/Training:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret or Top Secret Clearance.
  • Current, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the U.S.
  • Minimum of two years nursing or case management experience; must be certified as a case manager within the first year of employment.

Additional skills and knowledge include patient education, collaboration, negotiation, maintaining credentials, and effective communication.

Standard Company Requirements:

  • Compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance policies.
  • Regular attendance and completion of required training.

Desired Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous military background or experience is preferred.
