Job summary

Central Middle School in Minot, ND is seeking a Paraprofessional for direct services to students with special needs. The role provides individual and classroom support under supervision, assisting teachers and contributing to a positive learning environment.

The position requires adherence to district policies and proper documentation of student progress. The incumbent works approximately 6.25 hours per day in a part-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree; AND one year of experience working with children; OR High school diploma and Paraprofessional certification from North Dakota Department of Public Instruction; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must pass a thorough background investigation.
• CPR/First Aid training may be required for some incumbents.

Responsibilities

• Assists severely disadvantaged and impaired students in school classrooms with educational programs, specialized direct services, and individual assistance; provides assistance to Teachers as requested.
• Supervises, instructs, and monitors students; conducts exercises and communicates with students to help achieve learning objectives with individual assistance and small group sessions.
• Assists with planning, preparation, development, and distribution of classroom materials and learning plans.
• Monitors student behavior and documents issues; performs required written reports daily.
• Communicates with students and staff while maintaining confidentiality.
