Job summary

East Penn School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Learning Support at Macungie Elementary School. This 29-hour-per-week, 10-month position supports students with special needs through one-on-one or small-group instruction under certificated staff supervision.

Responsibilities include classroom support, behavior management, and collaboration with teachers to reinforce educational goals. Prior educational experience is preferred and CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be current.
• Meeting one of: 2 years post-secondary study; an associate degree; a state/local assessment standard; or PDE Para Educator Credential.

Responsibilities

• Support students individually or in groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Monitor and direct activities to reinforce skill development.
• Assist with student supervision to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by the teacher or administrator.
• Carry out duties related to IEP goals and behavior support plans.
