Job summary

Kleinfelder's Ontario, CA office is seeking a Special Inspector/Materials Testing Technician to join our Southern California team. The role involves inspecting and testing construction materials on site to verify conformance with plans and specs and to prepare daily reports and data sheets.

Travel across California (about 50%) is required. Candidates should have 2+ years in soil, asphalt, and reinforced concrete testing, plus relevant certifications and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of soil, asphalt, and reinforced concrete testing and inspection experience.
• Willingness to travel throughout California (50% travel expected).
• Radiation safety training for the operation of a nuclear density gauge.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification; ICC Reinforced Concrete certification.

Kleinfelder's Ontario, CA office is seeking a Special Inspector/Materials Testing Technician to join our Southern California team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and building their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing. We're looking for a person with strong initiative, who will perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. The technician will prepare daily reports and data sheets and may be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of their supervisor.

Mandatory Position Requirements

• Willingness to travel throughout California (50% travel expected)
• Ability to work/stay out of town as needed to service project workloads
• 2+ years of soil, asphalt, and reinforced concrete testing and inspection experience
• Radiation safety training for the operation of a nuclear density gauge
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification
• ICC Reinforced Concrete certification

In addition to the above requirements, hiring preference with be given to those with any of the following desired certifications:

• Additional ICC certifications
• CWI certification

• Must be able to use a computer and/or iPad and have a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and photo management software

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Transparency Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Pay Range:$35 - $45/hr.
