About the Role

Kleinfelder’s Construction Services team is seeking ICC- and WABO-certified Special Inspectors to join our Seattle (Redmond), Washington office. The role involves performing special inspections and testing of construction materials on high‑profile projects across western Washington, actively engaging on construction sites and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and material testing for reinforced concrete and other specialty inspections.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet qualification and permit requirements.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and assist in the preparation of reports.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of related inspection experience
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1
• ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector; ability to obtain WABO Reinforced Concrete (RC) certification within one month of hire if not already certified
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Proficiency with a company‑provided laptop or tablet and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity
• Authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Radiation Safety training for nuclear density gauge operation
• ICC Pre‑stressed Concrete, Spray‑applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Structural Steel & Welding and other WABO designations (SC, LW, CF, PI, PA, FS)
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – AWS
• Associate’s degree or higher in construction management, construction technology, or related engineering field
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Washington; Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) preferred
