Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. in Centennial, CO is seeking an ICC Certified Special Inspector to perform special inspections on commercial, industrial, and public projects. The ideal candidate holds Reinforced Concrete certification and may have additional ICC credentials.

Responsibilities include inspecting concrete and related structural systems, reading drawings and specs, documenting field activity, and communicating findings to project teams. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience performing special inspections or related QA/QC work.
• Thorough understanding of construction materials, structural systems and codes.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specs.

• Perform inspections in accordance with approved plans, specs, codes and ICC requirements.
• Inspect reinforced concrete construction and related structural systems for compliance.
• Conduct inspections of masonry, post-tensioned, prestressed concrete, steel, bolting and welding.
• Read and interpret drawings, specs, shop drawings and code requirements.
• Document inspection activities and prepare clear field reports and project documentation.
• Maintain complete project files including reports, field notes, RFIs and correspondence.
• Communicate findings with project managers, contractors, engineers and client representatives.
• Identify non-conforming work and verify corrective actions when required.
• Perform inspections per company quality standards and safety procedures.

Job Description

We are seeking an ICC Certified Special Inspector to perform special inspections on commercial, industrial, and public works construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and inspection procedures, with required certification in Reinforced Concrete and additional ICC certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform special inspections in accordance with approved plans, specifications, building codes, and ICC requirements.
• Inspect reinforced concrete construction and related structural systems for compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct inspections of structural masonry, post-tensioned concrete, prestressed concrete, structural steel, bolting, and welding as certified.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable code requirements.

Additional Information

Salary range: $28-32/hour, depending on qualifications
