Job summary

City of Clarksville is seeking an Event Set-Up Worker to assist with set-up and tear-down of venues, including arranging tables, chairs, pipe and drape, and audiovisual equipment per customer layout plans. This role also involves cleaning duties before and after events.

The position requires working evening, weekend, and late/overnight shifts. Prior event setup or customer service basics are preferred, and the job may involve both indoor and outdoor work.

DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for set-up and tear down of special events and internal/external cleaning of venues. Incumbents will need to set up tables, chairs, and pipe and drape according to layout plans provided by customers. This position requires working evening, weekend, and late/overnight shifts.

PLEASE NOTE: PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN EVENT SET-UP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE BASICS ARE PREFERRED.

THIS POSITION WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGH 9/25/2026 OR UNTIL FILLED.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Ability to follow oral and written directions/instructions.
• Knowledge of safety and operation of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to safely operate and utilize ladders.
• Ability to lift/carry tables and chairs.
• Ability to set up and break down tables, audiovisual equipment, video screen, and assemble/disassemble pipe and drape.

TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Event set-up experience preferred but not required.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

JOB CONDITIONS

• Inside and outside environment.
• Must be able to do moderate to heavy lifting.
• Nights and weekends availability required.
• Performs duties under general supervision.
• Incumbents may be subjected to bloodborne pathogens.
