Job summary

The Town of Avon, Colorado invites applications for a Special Events Coordinator to support the CASE Manager in developing and implementing cultural, arts, and special events programs. The role covers production and administrative duties across a range of community events in an outdoor mountain setting.

Responsibilities include vendor management, volunteer coordination, permits, and communications, with opportunities to contribute to signature events and city outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in event management, economics, business or equivalent required.
• 4+ years progressive administrative or supervisory experience in special events or similar work.
• Equivalent education/experience considered; experience in an all seasons resort municipality is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Management and recruitment of special event vendors and contracts per policies.
• Coordinate volunteer personnel training, scheduling and assignments.
• Prepare CASE Committee materials, meeting minutes and prep as needed.
• Attend CASE Committee meetings and support communications materials.
• Assist with development of permits, insurance forms and fee collection.
• Plan and implement community and signature events with safety and permitting in mind.
• Coordinate traffic plans with Public Works, Mobility and Avon PD.
• Manage pavilion rentals and third-party event producer contracts as needed.
