An established industry player is seeking a dynamic Special Events Coordinator to enhance its image and support strategic fundraising goals. Responsible for the development and implementation of special events that build the Foundation’s image and support the Foundation’s strategic and fundraising goals. Manages cultivation and stewardship events for donors and fundraising events in the community.
This position must have the ability to self-manage and lead projects from conception to completion. Excellent writing and communication skills required. Supports the accounting, tracking, acknowledging, recognizing, recording, and receipting of donors, vendors, and event sponsors. Organizes and manages special event volunteer engagement.
Responsible for management of special events for the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation. The Foundation hosts a wide range of events, from formal seated dinners, cocktail receptions, and breakfast meetings, to large community events marketed to the public. The special events coordinator will need to draft invitation copy, work with graphic designers, create invitation lists, and manage RSVPs. The events coordinator is responsible for the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation Golf Championship, as well as public facing events like In the Pink Tennis and Pickleball and Martha’s Market. Will assist with the creation and execution of hospital events, including staff recognition events. Must be able to multi-task, stay organized, and manage special event volunteers.
Excellent writing and communication skills required. Must be organized and have the ability to multi-task when more than one event is being organized simultaneously. Familiarity with donor management software is a plus, as would be social media and website management experience. Experience working with graphic designers and print houses required.
Bachelors Degree preferred, though 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
In person. Typically Monday-Friday, though some evening and weekend work is required.
Reports to the Director of Development. Needs to be a collaborative team player who can work with marketing and communication colleagues, as well as with hospital and board leaders.
