Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator for Resource Room positions across South Shore, Nassau County, NY. Roles may be part-time or full-time, with compensation at $60/hour and hours during school days.

Availability typically Mon-Fri during school hours and responsibility spans multiple IEP-driven sessions and locations. The position offers benefits for employees working 25+ hours weekly, including medical, dental, vision, and other perks.

Qualifications

• Bilingual ability is a plus.
• Experience collaborating on IEP goals and services.
• Experience supporting children and families in educational settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Review and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain session notes and timely documentation.
• Communicate with general education teachers about student needs and accommodations.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families and school staff.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on data.

• Location: Various cases around South Shore, Nassau County, NY
• Status: Part-Time, Fee for Service or Full time Potential
• Hours: Availability during school hours typically Mon-Fri.
• Follows school calendar
• Specific session lengths depend on IEP mandates (e.g., 1×30 min, 5×45 min, etc.)
• Compensation: $60/hour

Please note this is a range. Rates are determined by the service provided, professional experience and license/certifications held. In addition the position posted may be either full-time or fee-for-service (FFS), depending on the current caseload which will be discussed during the interview. This arrangement can vary and is subject to change.
