Job summary

Delta-T Group is seeking a Special Education Transportation Aide to service the Anne Arundel County area. The role involves assisting students boarding and exiting buses, ensuring seating and safety, and monitoring behavior during transportation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to work cooperatively with students and parents. Background checks are required, with opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Some knowledge of and/or experience supporting special needs students (preferred).
• Ability to exercise patience and assist disabled students during transportation.
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and parents.
• Ability to satisfactorily pass background check.
• Ability to present CPR/First Aid, Physical, and TB/Skin Test.

Responsibilities

• Assists special needs students boarding and exiting school buses (ocassionally lifting when necessary).
• Assign students to seats and adjust safety traps.
• Observe students during transportation and react promptly to behavioral needs.
• Assist students during medical emergencies.
• Attend in-service training and workshops as established.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

• Assists special needs students boarding and exiting school buses (occasionally lifting when necessary)
• Assign students to seats and adjust safety traps
• Observe students during transportation and react promptly to behavioral needs
• Assist students during medical emergencies
• Attend in-service training and workshops as established
• Perform other duties as assigned.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Some knowledge of and/or experience supporting special needs students (preferred)
• Ability to exercise considerable patience and physically, emotionally, and mentally assist disabled students during their transportation to and from school
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and parents
• Ability to complete and satisfactorily pass background check
• Ability to present current CPR/First Aid, Physical, and TB/Skin Test
