Job summary

Cove Day School, part of the Bureau of Indian Education, seeks a Transitional Teacher (Special Education) to serve as a classroom teacher in a BIE school on or near the Reservation. This position follows a school year contract under Public Law 95-561 and requires annual contract renewal.

It is not suitable for telework or remote work under any circumstances. Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree or higher and enroll in a State alternative licensure program within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) from an accredited education institution.
• Provide proof of enrollment in a local State's alternative teaching licensure/certificate program within 90 days of the start date.
• Enrollment should be for the appropriate endorsement/subject field as identified in the Job Opportunity Announcement (e.g. elementary, mathematics, special education, chemistry, etc.) in the State where the position is located.
• Applicants with DODEA certification can work with States directly for reciprocity licensure and not required to enroll in Alternative Licensure program unless State stipulates such.
