Job summary

RSU 12, Sheepscot Valley is seeking a Special Education Tech III to support students in the Resource Room at Whitefield Elementary School. The role involves planning and delivering instruction under a Special Education Teacher's guidance and may include directing individuals or small groups and classroom support.

Required Maine DOE certification and CHRC authorization, with preference for experience with special needs and knowledge of literacy and math strategies; teamwork and Safety Care usage

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine Department of Education Certification and CHRC Authorization.
• Experience working with students who have special needs preferred.
• Ability to follow Individual Education Plans and implement behavior plans.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies in literacy and mathematics preferred.
• Ability to use Safety Care strategies to maintain safe student behaviors.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

DESCRIPTION: Plan and deliver instruction under the guidance of a Special Education Teacher. As an ed tech III, you may be providing direction individually or in a small group, or supporting students in a classroom.
