Archway Lincoln in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5) to support students in general and special education settings. The role collaborates with certified teachers and general education staff to implement SDI concepts and classroom modifications.

The position requires a high school diploma or higher, with preference for an associate degree or 60 credits. US work authorization is required, and training in behavior management is provided.

Responsibilities

• Academic Support: assist students in small groups or 1:1; reinforce classroom rules.

• Additional Support: help with transitions, personal hygiene, mobility, and clerical tasks for the ESS Team.
• Attend meetings and trainings; maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Position Title: Special Education Teaching Assistant (K-5)Location: Archway Lincoln (2250 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler, AZ 85286)Reports To: HeadmasterFLSA Status: Non-Exempt, HourlyHourly Rate: $16-$18The Instructional Assistant is a non-certified assistant to the Special Education Program at the academy for both general education and special education resource classrooms. The assistant will work to support students in all settings on campus under the direction of and in collaboration with the certified Special Education teachers and General Education teachers. Associate degree (preferred) or two years/60 credit hours of higher education or a passing score on an appropriate ADE assessment.Required/Preferred Experience: Has experience in special education.Required/Preferred Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in reading great books.Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching.
