Job summary

Grant County Schools is seeking a licensed educator to lead students toward their intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth while implementing IEP goals.

Qualifications

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to implement inclusive practices and co-teaching.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians about student progress and strategies.
  • Monitor and support student behavior using positive behavior supports.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, conferences and district professional development.

Qualifications:

SALARY:

Commensurate with the school district's Certified Salary Schedule


Physical Qualifications:


  • Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking

  • Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, sit, possibly lift 50 pounds or more

  • Requires the ability to be fully trained in Restraint & Seclusion

To lead students toward fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation while implementing all goals and objectives of students' Individual Education Plans.


General Job Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that align with each student's strengths, needs, and goals.

  • Delivers specially designed and/or differentiated instruction tailored to various learning abilities.

  • Utilize assessments, progress monitoring tools, and data-driven strategies to measure student success and adjust instruction.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers to implement inclusive practices and co-teaching opportunities.

  • Communicate with parents/guardians to discuss student progress, share strategies, and build partnerships.

  • Monitor and support student behavior through positive behavior interventions and supports.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance, attendance, and compliance requirements.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, Professional Learning Communities, and district-run professional development sessions.

  • Collaborate with related service providers to best meet students' needs


Professional Responsibilities:


  • The teacher follows school, district, state and federal guidelines and policies.

  • Keeps attendance records and all other records pertinent to the special education programs required by state and local regulations, and policies and procedures

  • The teacher attends staff meetings.

  • The teacher reports to work regularly and on time.

  • The teacher keeps up to date on current educational trends

  • The teacher serves on district, school, department and/or team committees in a positive, productive manner.

  • The teacher selects appropriate channels for resolving concerns/problems.

  • The teacher cooperates with resource personnel, other staff members and parents.

  • The teacher attends to assigned duties and responsibilities in a prompt manner.

  • The teacher promotes a safe physical environment for the classroom.

  • The teacher promotes a professional image through proper personal appearance.
