Job summary

Rochester Public Schools in Minnesota is seeking a 1.0 Long-Term Substitute Special Education - DCD-MM Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, with assignment from November 13, 2026 to January 12, 2027. The position is prorated based on hire date and licensure, under the REA contract 2025-2027.

Applicants should hold or be eligible for a Minnesota PELSB license in Developmental Disabilities or Academic Behavior Strategist, and demonstrate effective classroom management and culturally responsive

Qualifications

Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required: K-12 Developmental Disabilities or Academic Behavior Strategist
RPS makes an effort to hire teachers with a full standard license in the assigned subject and/or grade level.
Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
Demonstrates continued professional development through course work, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
Working knowledge of classroom management techniques and current best practices to address diverse learning needs.
