We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) to join our team and support students in Phoenix-area schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the academic and developmental growth of students with disabilities by providing individualized instruction, fostering inclusive educational environments, and collaborating with educators and families to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

As a Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) working in Phoenix-area schools, you will design and implement tailored learning plans, known as Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), to address each student’s unique needs. You will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in differentiated instruction and classroom management to foster both academic and personal growth. By collaborating closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families, you will help create a supportive and inclusive educational community where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities for the Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) role include developing, updating, and managing IEPs for students in compliance with legal and district guidelines. You will provide direct instruction that is adapted to the strengths and challenges of each learner, monitor progress through assessments and data collection, and maintain detailed documentation to support student success and regulatory requirements. Regular collaboration is key, both in formal meetings, such as IEP reviews and evaluations, and informally with colleagues and parents, to align strategies and ensure continuity of support. Additionally, you will actively participate in compliance activities, professional development, and the promotion of positive, inclusive practices within the school.

Qualifications for this Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) position include a valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification. Candidates should hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field. While prior school-based experience is preferred, new graduates with strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills are encouraged to apply. This inclusive role values professionals who are committed to advocacy, lifelong learning, and building collaborative relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

This is a school-based, full-time employment opportunity within Phoenix-area schools, with potential consideration for part-time roles. The position offers competitive compensation and ongoing professional support, enabling you to focus on what matters most: making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with disabilities. Working in the Phoenix area provides educators with the chance to be part of a vibrant and diverse community, supported by resources and a collaborative culture dedicated to student achievement and well-being.
