Job summary

Salt Lake City School District is hiring for a certified special education teacher to support Parkview Elementary in a severe self-contained classroom. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a Utah Special Educator License with endorsements, plus strong communication with families.

The teacher will plan and deliver instruction aligned to state and district standards, follow IEPs, and work with a multidisciplinary team to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or complete before start date.
• Valid Utah Professional Special Educator License and endorsements, or equivalent transfer.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Plans and provides instruction based on curricula and IEPs in a severe self-contained classroom.
• Collaborates with general education teacher to provide access to the curriculum.
• Maintains accurate records of student progress and IEP goals.
• Communicates with families about instruction and student progress.
• Participates in professional development and district activities.
