Job summary

The Bureau of Indian Education is seeking a Teacher (Special Education) to provide professional instruction in classroom, team-teaching, or remedial settings according to school structure and guidelines.

You will plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities, prepare outlines and lesson plans, and maintain records as required by regulations. Valid state licensure in the specialty is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited education institution.
• All professional educators must possess a valid Teacher certification/licensure in the appropriate endorsement area.

Responsibilities

• Prepares yearly instructional outlines and related daily lesson plans covering units of study with objectives and evaluative methods.
• Teaches students by selecting, developing, adapting, and implementing instructional methods to provide academic achievement.
• Continuously evaluates progress using criterion-referenced tests, standardized tests, and other evaluation methods.
• Maintains required records and communicates progress to parents and others.
• Maintains classroom control and counsels students within established guidelines to support effective learning.
