Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment for learning.
• Prepares for classes and shows evidence of preparation upon request.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Employs varied instructional techniques and media as appropriate.
• Strives to implement district educational goals and objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports as required.
• Collaborates with staff to support pupil needs and health issues.
• Maintains student safety of equipment and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by policy.
• Assists administration in enforcing policies and classroom rules.
• Makes themselves available to students/parents outside instructional hours.
• Oversees assignments for instructional aides and volunteers; evaluates performance.
• Maintains professional competence and attends staff meetings.
