Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education.
• SPC I certification.
• Student teaching in the area of exceptionality or two years teaching experience at level appropriate to assignment.
• Certification in a content area desirable.
• Courses in behavioral management including nonviolent crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities.
• Assist in development of Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
• Collaborate with general education teacher.
• Attend school meetings outside instructional day as mandated by the MCPS agreement.
