Job summary

Building Connections Academy in California seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support K–8 students with disabilities, including ESN. You will develop and implement IEPs, adapt curriculum, and provide targeted interventions to promote academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth.

Collaborate with parents, BCBAs, paraprofessionals, and staff to ensure access to opportunities and consistent communication.

Qualifications

• Clear DOJ/FBI background check required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild/Moderate or ESN) or approved out-of-state equivalent.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Immunizations including MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hep B and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Teach and support small groups in inclusive and specialized settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs based on student needs.
• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings.
• Provide instruction across academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains.
• Collect, analyze, and report student progress regularly.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure accommodations.
• Design and deliver project-based lessons aligned with California standards.
