Job summary

Williamstown Independent Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Jr./Sr. High to provide instructional services aligned with Kentucky Core Content and each student’s IEP.

The teacher will collaborate with the building principal and the Director of Special Education to plan, implement, and monitor effective instruction and progress for identified students. The role emphasizes appropriate educational services, collaboration with staff, and adherence to district policies.

Qualifications

• Shall hold a bachelor's degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.
• Shall demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, peers and adults.
• Shall demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Act as a member of the Admissions and Release Committee for each assigned student.
• Plan and implement a program of study aligned with the district curriculum and IEP objectives.
• Implement curriculum objectives and goals using differentiated teaching techniques.
• Provide units of instruction with daily lesson plans aligned to the general curriculum and IEPs.
• Communicate aims and objectives clearly to students in an organized manner.
