Powell County School District seeks a Special Education Teacher responsible for guiding students toward intellectual, emotional, and physical growth. You will develop individualized IEPs, collaborate with staff and parents, and ensure compliance with due process and safety procedures in the classroom.

The role requires a Kentucky Special Education teaching certification and a Bachelor's degree in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in field of assignment is required.
• Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification in Special Education.

Responsabilités

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Communicates effectively with staff, parents, students and administration.
• Maintains due process documentation and evaluates student progress regularly.
• Diagnoses learning needs and prescribes IEPs to meet those needs.
• Assists in planning instructional goals and methods with staff.
• Handles health-related duties and safety procedures as instructed by health professionals.
