Job summary

Sheppard Pratt School in Hunt Valley seeks a compassionate, dedicated special education teacher to provide specialized instruction, support, and accommodations for students aged 5–21 with diverse learning needs and disabilities.

You will develop IEPs, plan evidence-based instruction, differentiate lessons, and work with parents, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success and progress in both academics and social-emotional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• MSDE special education license or eligibility within 30 days.
• 3 months of progressively more responsible work experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their academic and social-emotional development.
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEP) for students with disabilities, in collaboration with parents, school administrators, and support staff.
• Plan and implement evidence-based instruction that meets the developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs and learning styles of the various student populations.
• Differentiate instruction to meet unique academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with the behavioral and clinical teams to develop and implement plans for students with behavioral needs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree

MSDE educator license in special education or eligibility within 30 days
