Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Special Education teacher at Carl Sandburg Learning Center for a 1.0 FTE position. Under the direction of the school principal and special education supervisor, you will provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities and collaborate with the general education teacher.

You will monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities and assist in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum and special education program.
• Strong understanding of IEPs, learning theory, differentiation, data collection, and evidence-based reading instruction.
• Ability to adapt instructional programs and materials for students with disabilities.
• Excellent communication with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with the general education teacher.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities.
• Assist in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Attend required meetings and trainings as mandated.
