Job summary

Diocese of Allentown, St. Joseph Center for Special Learning in Schuylkill Haven, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The role develops and implements IEPs/ILPs, monitors progress, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team. You will supervise paraprofessionals, integrate AAC and assistive technology, and support transition planning toward greater independence in a faith-centered

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification.
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP/ILP development, progress monitoring, and compliance.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Background clearances completed as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP/ILP goals.
• Differentiate instruction using evidence-based practices.
• Incorporate AAC and assistive technology into instruction.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs/ILPs with families and teams.
• Collaborate with Speech, Occupational, Physical Therapists and other providers.
• Supervise classroom paraprofessionals and provide coaching.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with regulations.
• Engage families with conferences and progress updates.
