Job summary

St. Joseph School District is seeking a qualified teacher for students with disabilities under a 9-month term. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri teaching certificate and the ability to manage IEP documentation and meetings.

The position reports to the Director of Special Programs/Building Principal and may include telework options as needed by the district. Prior experience is preferred to support students’ academic and behavioral goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor's Degree with a valid Missouri teaching certificate.
• Preferred: Previous experience.
• FLSA: Exempt.
• Terms of Employment: 9 Month.
• Eligible for emergency telework: Yes.
• Purpose: Educate students with disabilities and manage IEP paperwork and meetings.
• Direct Report: Director of Special Programs/Building Principal.

Responsibilities

• Attend work in a regular, reliable and punctual manner.
• Telework when requested by the District.
• Teach students scheduled lessons and ensure understanding using IEP reporting.
• Prepare daily lesson plans.
• Inform teachers of necessary student accommodations.
• Gather and evaluate IEP data.
• Manage paperwork for each student, update IEP information and related documents.
• Attend meetings with parents and staff; participate in in-service training.
• Other assigned duties.
