Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools is seeking a Special Education - General Curriculum teacher for Manassas Park High School to design and deliver instruction for students with disabilities within diverse educational settings. The teacher reports to the principal and works with assistants and families to support IEP goals and student growth, coordinating with teachers and service

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Virginia Special Education license or reciprocity from another state.
• Provisional/collegiate Virginia license eligibility with transcripts.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse student needs.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all federal and state laws, State Board of Education regulations, and School Board and Superintendent policies.
• Serve as a case manager for students with disabilities.
• Provide direct and indirect instructional support in a positive and structured learning environment.
• Modify the general education curriculum to meet individual student needs.
• Plan and implement balanced instructional activities to promote observation, inquiry, and investigation.
• Collect, analyze, and use data to develop IEP services.
• Develop lesson plans and provide individualized and small-group instruction.
