Job summary

Copper Country Intermediate School District in Hancock, Michigan, has an immediate opening for a Special Education Teacher serving elementary or middle/high self-contained classrooms for students with cognitive impairments.

You will collaborate with students, families, educators and support staff to differentiate instruction, build academic, social, behavioral, and life skills, and align with the general education curriculum when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Michigan teaching certificate required.
• Michigan Special Education Approval required.
• A Michigan Cognitive Impairment (CI) teaching endorsement is preferred.
• Experience is a plus; passion is essential.
• Ability to provide a core program for students with special education eligibility by differentiating instruction.

Responsibilities

• Lead self-contained classrooms for students with cognitive impairments.
• Create engaging, individualized learning experiences.
• Help students build academic, social, behavioral, and life skills.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and support staff to support student success.
