Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Special Education Teacher in Michigan to design, implement, and assess instruction for students with Emotional Impairments. You will provide individualized educational experiences addressing cognitive, emotional, and physical needs while collaborating with families, educators, and support staff.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEPs, participate in MET and IEPT meetings, and adapt curricula to diverse learning styles.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Emotional Impairment endorsement.
• Experience in designing instruction for students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEPs, due process, and data privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging, individualized instruction for students in one-on-one, small group, and resource room settings.
• Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs and maximize student success.
• Conduct assessments to evaluate cognitive abilities and identify strengths and needs.
• Monitor and analyze student progress, providing detailed reports to guide instruction.
• Maintain organized records of assessments, progress, interventions, and services.
