Job summary

Delta-T Group in Melissa, TX is seeking Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions are full-time, M-F, 7:30am-4:30pm, with $48+ hourly compensation depending on qualifications and experience.

These teachers will work in self-contained classrooms with elementary students, implementing IEPs and maintaining records while collaborating with staff and parents to support student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred.
• Enrollment in alternative certification program preferred.
• PreK, ESL, & Special Education positions require certification.
• Teaching: 1 year.
• Special Education: 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in core curriculum and special education areas using varied resources.
• Develop and implement innovative methods for teaching special education students.
• Maintain instructional environments and adapt materials as needed.
• Collaborate to develop and implement IEPs and meet legal requirements.
• Maintain student records in compliance with due process.
• Evaluate progress toward IEP goals and report to parents and staff.
• Maintain communication with parents to support student development.
• Perform classroom management and enforce school rules.

Our Clients are seeking Elementary Self- Contained Special Education Teachers for Melissa, TX area and multiple neighboring campuses for the current 2026-2027 school year.

CLIENT HOURS/COMPENSATION

M-F 7:30am-4:30pm

$48.+ hourly Depending on qualifications and experience

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY

The Special Education Teachers will work in self contained classrooms with elementary level students.

The essential functions of these positions include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

• Provide instruction in the core curriculum and special education area(s) for which employed; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
• Develop and implement innovative methods for providing instruction to special education students.
• Maintain a suitable instructional environment for special education students according to their needs; ensure that equipment is modified and materials adapted as necessary.
• Participate with other special education staff as appropriate to evaluate the special education needs of a student and to develop an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to meet the student's needs; implement these plans in accordance with special education state and federal legal requirements and district practice.
• Maintain student records and ensure that they are in compliance with due process requirements.
• Evaluate special education student performance in accordance with the system used by the school and/or District; promote student achievement; ensure that progress is being made toward IEP goals and objectives; make related reports to parents, the principal and/or Special Education administration as prescribed or authorized.
• Maintain contact and communications with parents of special education students and work with them in the academic development of the student and to meet the objectives of the IEP or IFSP; participate in parent teacher conferences.
• Perform classroom management duties; enforce rules governing the conduct of students; take appropriate disciplinary action with students when necessary.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
• Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject and level assigned preferred
• Enrollment in alternative certification program preferred (if not already certified)
• PreK, ESL, & Special Education positions require certification
• Teaching: 1 year
