Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District in Michigan is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to provide quality individualized education programs for students with behavioral, academic and social needs.

Starting wage is based on education and experience; salary ranges from $48,695 to $76,495 with a full benefits package. The posting is for the DIISD MoCI program at Norway-Vulcan Area Schools in Dickinson County and remains open until filled.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mental Retardation from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Michigan Teacher’s certificate in Mental/Cognitive Impairment.
• Meet Special Education Rules requirements.
• Able to physically manage, lift and interact with students with varying needs.
• Driver’s license may be required for this position.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out an individualized instructional program for each student assigned emphasizing self-help skills, communication, physical and motor development, personal and social adjustment, health and safety, adult living skills, work activity experience, and post-school training.
• Develop education plans for each student.
• Ensure placement in the program is processed according to procedures.
• Develop goals and short-term instructional objectives for each child.
• Meet timelines for annual IEP meetings and redetermination reviews.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Complete required written reports and billing in a timely fashion.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Educación

Bachelor Degree in Mental Retardation

Valid Michigan Teacher’s certificate in Mental/Cognitive Impairment

Satisfy the requirements of Special Education Rules

Able to physically manage, lift and interact with students

Driver’s license may be required
