Job summary

Squamscott River Academy, a Mount Prospect Academy program in North Hampton, NH, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher / Academic Case Manager to join our team. You will provide instruction, manage educational programming, implement IEPs, and monitor progress in a trauma-informed setting.

The ideal candidate will have a SPED endorsement, 1+ years of related experience, and a passion for helping adolescents overcome challenges while achieving educational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • New Hampshire Educator Certification with Special Education endorsement appropriate for grade level.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and manage student educational programming.
  • Implement IEPs and accommodations and monitor progress.
  • Create a positive classroom environment where students can succeed.
  • Collaborate with families, clinicians, and school staff to support student success.
  • Maintain educational documentation, progress reports and case management records.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and treatment team meetings.

Squamscott River Academy (SRA), a New Hampshire Department of Education-certified private school and a member of the Mount Prospect Academy family of programs, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher / Academic Case Manager to join our team in North Hampton, NH.

SRA provides a small, trauma-informed educational setting where students receive individualized support to help them achieve academic, social, and emotional success. Position Summary

The Special Education Teacher / Academic Case Manager plays a vital role as part of our academic and treatment team. This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction, managing student educational programming, implementing IEPs and accommodations, monitoring academic progress, and creating a positive classroom environment where students can succeed.

  • Provide engaging classroom instruction aligned with curriculum standards and student learning goals.
  • Develop lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and progress monitoring tools.
  • Implement and monitor IEPs, accommodations, and modifications.
  • Deliver specialized instruction for students receiving special education services.
  • Maintain educational documentation, progress reports, grading, and case management responsibilities.
  • Monitor student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress.
  • Utilize positive behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies.
  • Coordinate accommodations for state and standardized testing.
  • Collaborate with families, administrators, clinicians, and outside agencies to support student success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, treatment team meetings, faculty meetings, and professional development.
  • Supervise and support paraprofessionals and teaching assistants.
  • Assist with school activities, field trips, and student enrichment opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
  • New Hampshire Educator Certification with Special Education endorsement appropriate for grade level.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
Preferred
  • Two or more years of Special Education teaching experience.
  • Experience working with middle and high school students.
  • Experience working with students who have learning, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
