Under direct supervision, provides general teaching assistance to students with special needs. Conducts duties to support instruction through delivery of small group instruction, taking classroom notes, assisting students to and from class settings, redirecting students to tasks, implementing behavior management plans, monitoring students at all times, and maintaining confidentiality of students. May use computers in performing assigned tasks. Duties may be specialized to area of instruction, type of students, etc.
Conducts duties in an office/school/work environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to office work requiring lifting/moving of items up to 25 pounds. Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.
