Job summary

Accel is a private nonprofit organization serving children and young adults with special needs. The position is a 10-month school-year role working Monday–Friday, with a schedule from 7:30am to 3:30pm.

The role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include evaluating student progress, maintaining records, coordinating IEP scheduling, and supporting classroom staff with behavior intervention and safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education required.
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement required.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain; background check mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans and instructional programs.
  • Provide ongoing evaluations of students' progress and recommend curricular accommodations.
  • Maintain professional communication with parents/caregivers about student progress.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping for students and IEP-related documentation.
  • Supervise classroom paraprofessionals and implement behavior intervention techniques.
  • Physically intervene or provide physical assistance as needed in class.
  • Coordinate IEP scheduling and participate in MET and IEP meetings.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to implement therapeutic and educational programs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in education
Arizona Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement
