Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instructional and supportive services to K–12 students in a school setting in Visalia, CA. The position is contract-based and full-time with a 36-hour work week and pay at 45 per hour.

The teacher will work under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, collaborate with general education staff, and participate in program planning and implementation to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
• Endorsement: LBS1 preferred.
• Complies with relevant professional standards.
• Current CPR and health clearances as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator and general education staff.
• Participate in planning and implementation of student programs, including instruction and consultation.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
