Responsibilities

• Teach the Alabama Course of Study (ACOS) with fidelity.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure that IEP goals are met.
• Attend IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant meetings.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests in accordance with established procedures.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with school rules.
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and required reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Observe and evaluate students' performance and development and provide appropriate feedback on work
• Other duties as assigned by the school and/or district administrators
