Job summary

The Pinnacle School in Stamford, CT is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to design personalized lessons aligned with students' IEP goals and learning styles. You will foster confidence, independence, and essential life skills through evidence-based strategies.

Collaborating with counselors, related service providers, and families, you’ll support emotional regulation and social-emotional development in a structured, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Connecticut certification in Special Education or eligibility for certification.
  • At least two years of experience teaching students with learning or emotional differences.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and evidence-based interventions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized lessons aligned with each student’s IEP goals and learning style.
  • Support students’ emotional regulation and coping skills using the CPS model.
  • Integrate social, executive functioning, and problem-solving skill development into daily instruction.
  • Collaborate with counselors, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive student support.
  • Maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom that fosters growth and curiosity.

As a Special Education Teacher at The Pinnacle School, you will create personalized academic and social-emotional learning experiences for students with complex learning challenges.
