Job summary

Amergis is hiring a Special Education Teacher in Springfield, MO to provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade. You will collaborate with general education staff in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorials, and consultation.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a valid state teaching certificate, with preference for LBS1 endorsement and prior teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred.
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, K-12, under program administrator guidance.
• Collaborate with general education staff on planning and implementation of student programs.
• Engage in team planning for instruction, tutorials, and program consultations.

Education

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12.
