Job summary

Amergis is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a contract - full-time role in San Tan Valley, AZ. The teacher will support K–12 students, collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator, and participate in planning and implementing individualized instruction and related services.

Required are a Bachelor’s degree and state teaching certifications; experience and endorsements are preferred. Benefits include competitive pay, health/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required and teaching credential as per state regulations.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by contract/district regulations.
• Minimum of one year teaching experience preferred.
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
• Collaborate with program administrators and general education staff on planning and implementing student programs.
• Participate in team planning for special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation.

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has acommitment to team participation in planning and implementation of studentprograms including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultationwith general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred

• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred


• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard ElementaryTeaching preferred


• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard SecondaryTeaching preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice


• Current CPR if applicable


• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable


• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must be at least 18 years of age
