Job summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher in San Francisco to provide quality services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. You will collaborate with the Special Education Program Administrator to develop and implement student programs, including targeted instruction and tutorial support.

The role emphasizes teamwork with general education staff and adherence to federal/state requirements, plus health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
• Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
• State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
• Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provide quality services to special education students, kindergarten through 12th grade
• Collaborate with Special Education Program Administrator in planning and implementing student programs including special instruction and tutorial support
• Consult with general education staff to support inclusive practices and student success
• Deliver appropriate instruction and accommodations based on individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Maintain compliance with professional standards and health requirements

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
