Job summary

Jobtailor in Rialto, CA is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher to provide personalized instruction and manage each student’s IEP. You will work with students, families, and staff to develop and implement academic plans within an approved curriculum, conducting pre- and post-tests and documenting progress.

The role requires California credentialing, EL and Autism authorizations, field study experience, and strong competency in core subjects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required.
  • California credential with authorization for the specified Special Education disability area or intern eligibility.
  • English Learner Authorization or eligible to obtain EL Authorization.
  • Autism Authorization or eligible to enroll and complete a Commission-approved program including supervised field study.
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Knowledge of SIS and related Educational Systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications.

Responsibilities

  • Write and implement goals as outlined in each student's IEP.
  • Schedule and chair IEP meetings including 30-day review IEP meetings for all students.
  • Responsible to manage a student’s behavior.
  • Provide direct student instruction.
  • Maintain documentation of communications with students, families, and other services providers.

Requirements

  • Valid California credential Specialist with authorization for the Special Education disability and level assigned or intern eligible is required.
  • English Learner Authorization or eligible to obtain EL Authorization is required.
  • Autism Authorization is required or eligible to enroll and complete a Commission-approved professional preparation program in the special education specialty area requested, including successful completion of supervised field study is required.
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned is required.
  • Knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS) and related Educational Systems.
  • Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications.
